Remote, Rural and Resilient
I am delighted to announce further details of the 53rd Viking Surgeon Annual Conference Orkney, 29-30th October. We have an excellent faculty encompassing GI, HPB, and Thoracic surgery, alongside lectures on neck and back pain, anaesthetics, presentations from Trainees, and accounts of rural surgery in other parts of the world.

This event promises an excellent learning opportunity for aspiring rural surgeons and a platform for experienced practitioners to share their knowledge and experiences. Beyond the rich academic program, attendees will have the chance to experience the unique beauty of Orkney, from its remarkable history to its stunning natural landscapes —a truly unforgettable setting for both professional and personal inspiration.

Further details can be found in the Delegate Information and Full Programme

I would please like to bring a friend to the annual dinner at the conference in Orkney.
How can i amend the application?
Or can i just let you know the details and pay when we meet at the conference?
Thanks

Hello Beatrix,

That's not a problem, you can let me know the details direct and make an additional payment to the VSA to cover an extra dinner place.

You can contact me direct if you have any questions.

Hi,

I have seen that some conferences put on a crèche for small children so that parents are able to attend. Is this something that you are offering this year? I am wondering whether to attend but I would need to bring my 18 month old as my husband will be working.

I would have emailed separately but I cannot find any contact email addresses to do so.

Kind regards,

Rebecca Dru

PS if there are any local delegates with responsible grown children who would like to earn some pocket money for the evening ceilidh, please also let me know!

Rebecca

There is no creche facility at the hospital where the conference is held but the organisers are looking for alternatives.

Hi,

Thank you so much. She's really not much bother so I can bring her to various things if necessary but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks,

Becky
